The VBA South grounds are now enriched with a beautiful bee park, thanks to the dedication of enthusiastic employees from local businesses. By planting 5,600 nectar plants and flowering shrubs alongside 35,000 m2 of flowers and 80 mature apple trees, the grounds have become a flourishing oasis for wild bees. This initiative not only promotes biodiversity but also provides a green walking environment for employees.
The recent completion of infrastructure around bus stops and footbridges provided space to transform the surrounding grounds into a Honey Highway, a project significantly increasing biodiversity in the area. This unique business park in the Netherlands is now home to a diverse mix of Dutch nectar plants and flowering shrubs, contributing to a healthy ecosystem and providing food for bees, butterflies, and other fauna.
The realization of the bee park was a collaborative project with Honey Highway, which provided the design and planting plan. Employees of FM Group and other local businesses contributed, making the project an example of nature education and team building.
